As a counselor, I am drawn to real writing – a truthful, trusting voice that helps us face down our inner critical self and lovingly let it go. In one word, Ellie is authentic. She helped me face down my fear of sharing on-line – hard to believe I even had that. She takes tough topics like shame, relationship needs, and self-worth and writes both refreshingly and down to earth. Her take charge, supportive voice helps me embrace my creative fire. She is the Julia Cameron for geeky creative types.

I have loved Ellie Di and her straight-to-the-core of it all writing style through each and every incarnation over the years. Her consistent pursuit of more truth, more authenticity, more integrity is inspirational on so many levels, and I just freaking love the strength with which she reserves the right to call out what doesn’t fit and rebuild. Ellie is rock-solid, creative as hell, and dedicated to her tribe without reservation – could you ask for anything more? And she’s a wonderful friend, to boot.

I have been reading Ellie Di’s writing since she first started, and there are times when she takes my breath away. She reminds me of Anne Lamott in her ability to combine deep insight with stunning prose. I remember an essay she wrote about witnessing her husband’s epileptic seizure, and it was as if I was in the room, feeling what she was feeling. Ellie Di is a young writer to watch, and I feel privileged to be part of her fan club.

Ellie’s writing brings me into a shared sisterhood of experience. Her authenticity is raw and open and inviting, and always strikes a chord of sameness inside me. Reading Ellie’s writing feeds my soul’s need for connection and community, while reflecting back to me my own struggles in a useful light.

I would absolutely share Ellie Di’s work with a friend! Her writing is fun, relatable, and at, its very core, honest. Few people in this world are willing to feel what they feel, let alone write about it and then share with the entire world. That takes bravery and Ellie Di is one of the bravest writers I know.

I love Ellie’s blog posts/writing; she turns events from her life into lessons we can all relate to and learn from; in our own way. She’s able to take a specific event and find the common themes, and share with us how she deals with them. That way when I find that theme in my life, I can ask how I might deal with it. When she asks questions about her life I’d never have asked, I can in turn, ask myself, and get new answers. If you’re looking for insight into your own stories, I’d suggest you check out her writing.
